Speaker Bios: Lauren Choate, Leadership Consultant, Resnik Partners Lauren Choate is a well-known speaker, facilitator and a leadership consultant. For the past twenty years, Lauren has created and delivered innovative leadership programs which have changed the way companies develop and manage their leadership talent. Her positive energy and presence combined with her leadership and facilitation skills garner rave reviews from clients and colleagues alike. Lauren began her professional career at British Petroleum (BP) where she first cut her teeth on leadership development. She leveraged her BP experience later at GE where she was responsible for the famous "GE Session C” process. In recent leadership roles at Great-West Life, CH2M Hill and Western Union, Lauren launched talent management strategies that drove a competitive business advantage. Jean Dubofsky, Former Colorado Supreme Court Justice Jean Dubofsky is an attorney who has represented litigants in state and federal courts -- primarily appellate courts -- in constitutional, tort, workers’ compensation, commercial, criminal, civil rights and family law cases. Dubofsky served as a justice on the Colorado Supreme Court from 1979 until 1987, the first woman appointed to the court. She was lead counsel for the plaintiffs in the successful constitutional challenge to Amendment 2 to the Colorado Constitution; the case, Romer v. Evans, is the first time - 1996 - that the United States Supreme Court recognized gay rights. Awards she has received include the ABA Margaret Brent Women Lawyers of Achievement Award, the ACLU Carle Whitehead Memorial Award for "exceptional commitment and dedication to civil liberties and the state of Colorado,” and the Boulder Daily Camera Lifetime Achievement Pacesetters Award. She serves on the boards of the Colorado Center for Law and Policy, Rocky Mountain Wild and Boulder Community Hospital. Dubofsky is a 1967 graduate of Harvard Law School and a 1964 graduate of Stanford University. She is married to Frank Dubofsky, and they have two sons; one lives in the Bay Area and the other lives in Boulder with his wife and son. D. Russell is a dynamic and innovative executive with more than fifteen years
experience in operations leadership, IT, and organizational design and
development. Appointed by Governor Hickenlooper to serve as the state’s
Secretary of Technology and Chief Information Officer, Kristin is charged with
leading the state’s technology economic development efforts and promoting
Colorado as a headquarters location for new and relocating technology companies
as well as for increasing the effectiveness and efficiency of government
through the use of shared information and technology. Prior to joining
the Governor’s Office, she was the Vice President of Global IT Service
Operations at Oracle where she was responsible for all data centers and
computing operations worldwide. She has also held various leadership
positions at Sun Microsystems, Inc. including serving as Vice President- IT
Operations and held roles in customer management, statistical process control
analysis and employee training and development while at Citigroup and Southern
Pacific Transportation Lines. Kristin serves on several boards and has been the
recipient of many awards including being named a Computerworld 2012 Premier 100
IT Leader. Claire Rutkowski, Global IT Business Services Director, MWH GlobalClaire Rutkowski is a Global IT Director and Leader at MWH Global with responsibilities across 35 countries that span six continents. Claire has a background and core foundation with large scale IT Projects and Program Management. During her 13 year tenure at MWH, she has progressed and developed from the Help Desk, to Project Management, to Regional and now Global Director. Claire is a certified IT project manager and PMP, and is passionate about excellence in both project execution and service delivery. In the project arena, Claire implemented a PMO, providing numerous benefits to the business, including consistency of project delivery, reduced overhead in planning and managing projects, and increased project success rates. Rebecca Saltman, National Community Relations Manager, Dex One Rebecca Saltman has developed a career around community building, public relations, cause marketing and collaboration to facilitate business and community growth. During her tenure at the Alliance for Sustainable Colorado Rebecca focused on a partnership with Progress Now and the Daily Kos to develop and implement the BIG TENT, a Bloggers and New Media Headquarters at the 2008 Democratic Convention in Denver. She funneled her expertise across many disciplines in helping democratize media, providing unprecedented access to over 500 bloggers. The Tent became the linchpin for the DNC’s new media strategy, and has since been chosen for curation in the Smithsonian Institute and Newseum. Currently Rebecca is the National Community Relations Manager for Dex One, a 1.3 billion dollar company that helps small businesses get found and get chosen! In her role Rebecca is helping Dex One connect with local businesses through a number of grassroots tactics including social media, webinars and events. Heather Snow, Stand-Up Comedian, Ladies Laugh-In Beauty Bar Heather Snow is a Denver based stand-up comedian that is best known for her show Ladies Laugh-In at Beauty Bar, two-time winner of Best of Westword, and named Top 10 Comedy Shows not to be missed by the Denver Post. Moving her life from being a carnie to an IT Director, family rebel and single lady, she tells stories and jokes based on her life experiences. Amy Stephens, House District 20, House Majority Leader, Colorado House of Representatives State Representative Amy Stephens is the House Majority Leader and is in her fifth year of service in the legislature. Stephens has also served as the House Minority Caucus Chairman and served on the House Business and Labor Committee, Judiciary and Legislative Council. Stephens’ legislation has focused on conservative common-sense issues such as wellness and healthcare, government transparency in school finance and gifts, grants and donations, military family issues and school safety. Representative Stephens was quickly identified by the Denver Post as one of the "five rising stars” of the Republican Party. She was honored by the Colorado Association of Commerce and Industry as being a "rising star” of the House – particularly in defending Colorado business issues. In 2010 Fox News Denver gave her an award for "feistiest” legislator on the floor defending business against the "Dirty Dozen” tax hikes. Colorado Military Veteran’s honored Representative Stephens for her work on military spouse issues – passing legislation to help spouses when re-locating to Colorado for assignment. She has also been awarded "Common Sense in the Courtroom” on judicial issues – standing against legislation that will hike insurance costs as well as cost of litigation in Colorado. In 2011 Stephens was awarded Legislator of the Year by the Colorado Springs Chamber and Advocate of the Year by the Colorado Technology Association for successfully reversing one of the "dirty dozen” software taxes.
Kathryn Zuber, Vice President of Human Resources, ProfitStreams Kathryn is a seasoned Human Resources professional with over 30 years of HR experience, most recently in the high-tech space. She has worked in both publicly traded and small start up environments and enjoys the challenges that both provide in the HR arena. Kathryn has traveled to Europe, China and Mexico in her career having worked diligently in cultural integration as it relates to mergers and acquisitions. Kathryn holds a Masters in Organizational Management from the University of Phoenix. She is married with two Siamese cats and two Labrador retrievers. She likes to play tennis, snow ski, hot-air balloon and work in her garden with her husband Jeffrey.
