Congratulations to Brian Simpson, engineering teacher at Montrose High, for being awarded the February Denver Broncos Tackle STEM Coach of the Month Award.

 

Brian’s passion for coaching both students and fellow teachers makes him a true asset to Colorado STEM education. His commitment to providing project-based learning opportunities to his students has amplified their knowledge and skill sets and provided real-world contexts that are unparalleled in most classrooms.

 

For Brian’s innovative approach to STEM education and powerful ability to connect with his local industry partners, we are thrilled to recognize him as the Denver Broncos STEM Coach of the Month.

 

 JANUARY 2016 DENVER BRONCOS TACKLE STEM COACH OF THE MONTH

 

Lindsey Nickerson

Science Teacher, Eaton Middle School

Congratulations to Lindsey Nickerson, Science Teacher at Eaton Middle School, for being awarded the January Denver Broncos Tackle STEM Coach of the Month Award. Lindsey is a thoughtful and dedicated STEM educator who has incorporated innovative inquiry-based strategies into her 7th- and 8th-grade science curriculum. She has taken on a significant leadership role in her school as a Smithsonian Science Education Center (SSEC) site coordinator. Lindsey works tirelessly to mentor other teachers and leads science training across her school district.

For Lindsey’s commitment to classroom collaboration and for her noteworthy leadership in delivering outstanding STEM curriculum to Colorado students, we are proud to recognize her as the January STEM Coach of the Month.

 

DECEMBER 2015 DENVER BRONCOS TACKLE STEM COACH OF THE MONTH

 

Joel Noble

Engineering & Woods Teacher, East High School

Congratulations to Joel Noble, engineering and woods teacher at East High School for being awarded the December Denver Broncos Tackle STEM Coach of the Month Award.

Joel has worked tirelessly for the past 14 years to give students access to the latest technology through hands-on projects in his engineering, woodworking, drafting, electronics and robotics courses. He also has coached hundreds of students in robotics competitions and has even mentored other educators and robotics coaches across the Denver metro to get new robotics teams up and running. For Joel’s commitment to developing creative and innovative problem solving in his students through experiential activities and for going above and beyond to drive student participation in robotics, CTA is proud to honor him!



 

ABOUT THE AWARD

 

The Denver Broncos Tackle STEM Coach of the Month is the latest component of the Denver Broncos Tackle STEM initiative supported by Arrow Electronics. The Tackle STEM program is also working with organizations such as RAFT Colorado and Ten80 Education and others to create hands on activities and positive learning experiences based on Denver Broncos and football content. Colorado STEMworks programs were eligible to nominate one high performing STEM education during the 2015-2016 season for the opportunity to be awarded the Denver Broncos Tackle STEM Coach of the Month.

 

The Denver Broncos Tackle STEM Coach of the Month is a prestigious award with a prize package of:

  • STEM focused tour of Sports Authority Field at Mile High for the selected educator and up to 50 students, including a transportation stipend and opportunity to host a class session at the stadium

  • Denver Broncos Tackle STEM jersey to proudly display in their classroom to recognize their accomplishments in championing STEM in Colorado

Eligibility: Colorado STEMWorks programs were eligible to submit educator nominations for the 2015-2016 season. 


 The January 2016 Denver Broncos Tackle STEM Coach of the Month will be announced shortly.
