CTA is geared up for a productive 2014 Legislative Session, which kicked off last week. We have a proactive agenda this year on topics ranging from telecom reform, Internet Protocol unregulation, STEM education and workforce development, for starters. CTA will be traveling to Washington D.C. to represent our industry at the annual DC Fly-In along with approximately 30 other technology councils on February 11-12, 2014. Current federal targets include immigration reform, patent trolling, data breach and notification, and startup innovation credit.

Volunteer Profile: John Meyer, Hitachi Data Systems
Thank you to John Meyer, a star CTA volunteer. John is leading the volunteer marketing committee for this year's C-Level @ A Mile High. He was instrumental in the logo and branding transition from Colorado Software & Internet Association (CSIA) to Colorado Technology Association (CTA). John is currently a Senior Marketing Manager at Hitachi Data Systems and the author of All Marketing is Local: A Common Sense Approach to Marketing Your Business. John spent over a decade as an executive for Microsoft Corporation. He previously worked for Wellness Business Systems, Pure Brand Communications and Arrow Partnership. In addition, John has served on the boards of the Food Bank of the Rockies and the Boys and Girls Clubs of Metro Denver. John is a Colorado native and loves doing anything outdoors with his family.
