Bio: Jim Ball is the founder of Alpine Access, as well as the pioneer of the home-based model. He currently serves as chief technology officer and managing partner of Alpine Access Consulting and works with the senior management team as the company expands to offer services in new lines of business. Bio: Peter Strauss has been in the IT industry for more than 20 years. He began his IT career in the late 80s selling Apple Macintosh hardware, software, networking and services in Aspen, CO Â during the off-season from being a ski instructor at Snowmass. Peter then moved back to New York City to take a position with Andersen Consulting (now Accenture) where he spent most of his time developing one of the first client-server document imaging systems for a large retail banking institution. Peter then went on to work for an IT Consulting firm, holding a variety of delivery roles, including Practice Director for Internet-based applications just as Netscape was becoming commercialized for the first time in the mid-1990s. In 1999, Peter left the consulting work to become CTO of several dot-coms, the last of which was sold to Paul Allen's Vulcan Ventures and became what it still the Fantasy Sports arm of The Sporting News. In 2002, Peter joined IT for Lehman Brothers and held a series of IT Leadership roles at Lehman until it went bankrupt in 2008. Peter moved seamlessly over to Barclays Capital (as part of their acquisition of the US assets of Lehman Brothers), where he assumed the role of Global Head of Application Management (Ops/Support) for BarCaps' Equities business. In this role, Peter lead a global organization of more than 350 application support engineers. At the end of 2010, Peter and his wife, Julie, decided to leave New York and return to Colorado (Denver this time).
