Aspenware Internet Solutions, Inc. announced its business incubation program, Aspenware Ventures, to create and seed new businesses by providing financial, business and technical resources.
The program is a mix of traditional research and development and a lean startup accelerator. Aspenware employees are provided time and resources to explore interests. These could be business, social or technical. Ideas are developed and solutions prototyped. Aspenware leadership evaluates the business potential and determines the level of seed funding. The founding team may include current employees or outside talent and is given access to Aspenware resources to take the concept to market.
"We at Aspenware are passionate about investing in work with talented people that promotes creativity and deep problem solving,” said Josh Swihart, Aspenware president and CEO. "Together, we are vetting and investing in technology businesses with potential for significant disruption.”
Recent Aspenware investments include: leveraging Big Data for predictive analysis, tracking and visualizing bug and bird migratory patterns, providing better means to align people with employment in conjunction with changes to post-secondary education, contexts for natural user interfaces, next generation search, and sophisticated algorithms for deep image analysis and pattern matching.
Based upon its research, Aspenware Ventures will announce its first two startup launches in early 2012.
