May 2, 2011 - Legislative Update

We Are In The Final Phase To Pass HB1293
HB1293, the bill to create clear, understandable language for software tax use in Colorado, is proceeding ahead, and now we need your final help in the efforts before the bill goes before the Senate  Appropriations Committee, and if passed, on to the Colorado Senate for 2nd and 3rd readings.

The bill passed unanimously through the Senate Finance Committee last week, and thank you to key members for testifying, and for dozens of people who emailed or called legislators.  We’re nearly there, but your continued voice makes a big difference, as this next hurdle will be the most difficult.

Take Action!  Senators Need To Hear That Tech Is Important In Colorado
Contact your Senator (and any other Colorado Senator) and let them know you support HB1293 because healthy businesses create healthy communities.  Let them know that businesses across every industry in our state use software, and it’s important that our elected officials know that HB1293 impacts thousands of businesses who then help hundreds of communities.

Please thank Senators Jahn and Newell for sponsoring the bill (alongside House Representatives Stephens and Murray), and let them know that their leadership on behalf of our industry is critical.

Don’t Miss This Final Chance to Make A Difference!

With your help, we can get this resolved before the legislative session ends May 11, 2011.  Contact your Senator today.
