BOULDER - The Foundry Group in Boulder said Tuesday it will provide $4.25 million in venture capital to Integrate, a marketing company co-founded by Jeremy Bloom, former Olympic skier, and University of Colorado and NFL football player.
Denver-based Integrate's performance-based marketing platform includes search-engine marketing and sales leads. "Performance-based" marketing means the company does not receive money unless a customer receives a qualified lead - which usually means something measureable like a phone call or a sale.
Bloom and co-founder Hart Cunningham previously started the online medical answer website MDInfo Inc. in Denver two years ago.
Integrate plans to hire new sales and marketing staff after getting the funding, Bloom said in an online interview with Fortune.com.
Bloom was named an All-American football player at the University of Colorado-Boulder. He spent three seasons in the NFL playing for the Philadelphia Eagles and the Pittsburgh Steelers. He also won 11 gold medals in four years of skiing on the World Cup tour.
