Partners with Denver-based CXO to unveil new capability in Colorado; organizations aim to create a new model of trust-based engagement between IT executives and solution providers

In early November, one of the newest members of CSIA, xPeerient, Inc., launched its IT executive peer networking and solution engagement platform in the Colorado market. The company is focused on streamlining the process of buying and selling enterprise IT solutions to make it more efficient, trust-based and effective for both IT buyers and solution providers. Colorado is the first in a series of regional rollouts across the U.S.

The announcement was made in partnership with Colorado-based CXO, LLC, A subsidiary of Executives Network, CXO is a private organization that brings together senior-level executives to network, share ideas and develop business relationships. Its members include a number of CIO and CTOs from the Colorado business market. Both CXO and xPeerient share a common interest in connecting executives with similar needs to share their ideas and insights and a belief that the most effective peer networks start at the local level. The organizations will work together to bring the platform to CXO members in Colorado.

"This platform enables economic buyers like me to quickly and easily filter though the myriad of IT product and vendor offerings out there as I try to find the right solutions to address my organization’s business and technology challenges,” said Mike Marcotte, global chief information officer at Denver-based Echostar Corporation. "That efficiency is great for me as a buyer and it’s great for vendors too. Most of them typically invest lots of money in sales cycles with unqualified prospects that go nowhere and stress relationships. It’s a constant battle for both sides. The xPeerient platform helps them get clear and concise information about projects so they can determine their potential fit without all the unnecessary cycles.”

According to industry analyst IDC, IT solution providers spend approximately $22 billion per year worldwide on demand generation programs; $10 billion in the U.S. alone. Most solution providers are concerned about the efficiency and effectiveness of these programs and channel solution providers report a dramatic increase in the number of leads required to close one new piece of business.

"The traditional methods of reaching qualified IT buyers are increasingly ineffective these days,” said John Gray, group vice president, North America technology channel sales at Oracle. "xPeerient is turning the whole model on its head. Our channel partners are being invited to speak with IT executives that have a defined need, budget and timeline. That puts the focus on where they can add the most value – working with the customer and leveraging their domain expertise to find and deploy the right solution.”

"The IT buyer-seller relationship is full of distrust and skepticism and too often, CIOs and CTOs are making critical solution decisions in isolation,” said Mark Hall, president and CEO of xPeerient. "xPeerient has created a peer community and platform that connects IT executives with similar needs and experience. This ability to get unbiased counsel from trusted, knowledgeable colleagues will enable IT executives to make smarter, more timely IT decisions for their organizations. ”

"Executives want and need the opportunity to collaborate with peers with similar needs and experiences to discuss critical business decisions and alternatives,” said Jay Allen, CEO of CXO. "This is especially true in IT where speed is essential and the impact of decisions so significant. xPeerient is providing a safe, trust-based, environment where IT executives can collaborate with their peers - outside the purview of vendor sponsors.”

By bringing together qualified IT buyers and solution providers at the right times, xPeerient aims to streamline the process for all parties involved. For IT buyers, xPeerient reduces the time, effort and resources it takes to find the right IT solution and connects IT buyers with similar solution needs and experience to share their insights with one another. For IT Solution Providers, xPeerient delivers 100% qualified business opportunities and changes the focus from demand generation to demand capture. It delivers these benefits to users in three primary ways:

1. Peer Community and Collaboration
xPeerient has created a trust-based, peer community and networking platform that connects IT executives with similar needs to discuss solution requirements, technology alternatives and product and vendor experiences. By helping buyers get unbiased counsel from trusted and knowledgeable peers prior to vendor engagement, xPeerient streamlines the buying and evaluation process and enables smarter, more effective IT decisions for their organizations. This community also further informs customer solution considerations and increases the awareness and credibility of qualified solution providers. It’s free for IT buyers.

2. IT Solution Engagement Platform
xPeerient has developed a SaaS-based platform that connects qualified IT solution providers with qualified buyers that are ready to purchase. For IT solution providers, all the discussions are with filtered, qualified and "ready to engage” companies and IT teams. For IT Buyers, anonymity, relevance matching tools, and peer referrals allow you to quickly find the solution providers you need, when you need them. Solution providers expand their market reach and gain access to highly qualified customers who are in the buying process with approved budget and timelines, along with defined solution requirements and decision criteria. Solution providers pay an annual subscription fee to participate and a fee per qualified opportunity.

3. Thought Leadership Portal
xPeerient has also formed a community of thought leaders, influencers, practitioners and solution providers to share their ideas, opinions and best practices to highlight the current problems in the IT procurement process, challenge the status quo and discuss ways to address these obstacles. The portal, community and content provide a forum for all players in the process to participate in the conversation and help accelerate the desired changes. The portal is open to the public.
