Galaxy Technologies(TM) (, a nationwide timekeeping and workforce management solutions provider, is launching Version 7 of its SQL Web-based TimeStar(TM) workforce management solution at the HR Technology Conference and Exposition in Chicago, Ill. on Sept. 29, 2010. Galaxy Technologies was recently acquired by Administaff (NYSE:ASF).

TimeStar Version 7 is Galaxy's latest comprehensive enterprise workforce management application with a broad feature-set that combines efficiency with convenience. Personalized dashboard widgets and user drag and drop workflow favorites on TimeStar's user home page reflect individuals' preferences, providing the most flexible product for each functional role within the enterprise. Beyond TimeStar's core time and attendance capabilities, a complete workforce management platform is provided with labor cost allocations, scheduling and accruals calculations. TimeStar enables the user to collect, analyze and take immediate control of labor data - online in real time.

TimeStar Version 7 is available in licensed, managed hosting and Galaxy's "Stress-Free Software-as-a-Service" (SaaS) subscription. The low per employee, per month, SaaS subscription only requires Firefox or Internet Explorer Web browsers and eliminates expensive software, hardware and IT infrastructure costs associated with traditional licensed enterprise solutions.

Version 7 offers the same proven, robust, time-tested core application as previous versions with new user interface features and new smartphone data collection options. TimeStar smartphone data collection modules are ideal for companies whose workforce is offsite.

"TimeStar 7 has been engineered with today's Web 2.0 savvy, web-enabled-smartphone-carrying professionals in mind," said Matt Petersen, Galaxy Technologies' vice president of technology. "Enhancements seen in this release were based on client and Business Partner focus group feedback."

The software upgrade to TimeStar Version 7, including the new user interface and modules, is available at no cost to current Galaxy Technologies TimeStar SaaS subscribers and TimeStar Enterprise licensed maintenance clients.

With a sleek new look and feel, TimeStar Version 7 has added computer monitor real estate that was not available only a few years ago with low definition CRT monitors. New personalized dashboard widgets allow users increased efficiency to quickly view and access their favorite modules. The functionality of summary timecard views allows drilldown to any element of an employee's time and labor data in a single click. Version 7 offers a variety of customizable list filtering to take complex chunks of information and organize them into better user-friendly formats.
