October 8th and 9th 2010 will be the third year for STEMapalooza, the largest STEM education event in Colorado. Last year 10,000 attendees (the vast majority were K-12 students) came to the Colorado Convention Center to see interactive displays of science and technology-based career opportunities. Technology industry representatives are encouraged to participate to inspire K-12 students in pursuing careers in software, games, electronic media or other technology-related fields. You can volunteer, sponsor the event or have a booth representing your company. Go to http://www.ucdenver.edu/about/WhoWeAre/community/STEMapalooza/Pages/Stemapalooza.aspx or contact the CSIA Education Committee co-chair Evan Call at firstname.lastname@example.org if you want to get involved or just help with the CSIA booth at the event.
As a member of CSIA, please also let us know if you want to help us in the CSIA exhibit area, being coordinated by the Education Committee and CSIA staff. Because CSIA's DEMOgala conference is on October 7 - the day of set-up for STEMAPALOOZA - we are asking for help from members of the Education Committee and membership at large to help us set up for STEMAPALOOZA while the staff is at DEMOgala. In addition, we're asking for volunteers to help us be in the exhibit (times can range from one hour to more depending on your schedule) to talk with parents, teachers, and students on both Friday and Saturday.
Also, there will be an informational webinar on September 9th at 12:00 noon at the following URL https://my.dimdim.com/stemeducation
My company wants to participate in the 2011 STEMapalooza but the "More Information" link above is invalid.
Is this event actually going to happen in 2011?
It looks like no from here. I can be reached at 720-279-2770 if you wanted to contact me and let me know if the event is on or not.
