McAfee's Q2 profit grows to $39.4M Silicon Valley / San Jose Business Journal Thursday, July 29, 2010, 1:19pm PDT
Propelled by strong sales in its consumer business, security software company McAfee Inc. on Thursday reported second quarter net income of $39.4 million, or 25 cents a share, up from $28.7 million, or 18 cents a share in the same quarter last year.
Santa Clara-based McAfee (NYSE:MFE) had revenue of $495 million, a 4 percent increase over the year-ago quarter.
Excluding items, the company would have earned $98.2 million, or 63 cents a share. Analysts expected, on average, earnings of 60 cents a share on $508 million in revenue.
Looking ahead, the company expects third quarter revenue of $505 million to $520 million, with net income of 29 cents to 33 cents a share.
