DENVER, CO—A case study of Alan Mallory’s record-breaking Mount Everest expedition, a rapid planning workshop from former US fighter pilots Afterburner Consultants, and a host of presentations spanning project management tools & techniques, trends, leadership and communication are slated for PMI Mile Hi’s 19th Annual Symposium, April 14, Colorado Convention Center, Denver. The largest annual gathering of the project leadership community of the Rocky Mountain West, the full day event features VIP speakers, networking, food and fun, social hour and PDUs (Professional Development Units).
More than 1,500 project leaders are expected to attend.
VIP speakers are Afterburner Consultants on their “Flawless Execution” model (www.afterburner.com) bringing the proven processes of military aviation to complex business challenges; and Erik Wahl, internationally recognized graffiti artist, speed-painter and motivational speaker on “The Art of Vision in Project Management” (www.theartofvision.com).
Workshops, breakouts and solution labs will be offered throughout the day. Additional case studies are on the Colorado Mountain Express Project and creation of the Project Management Office (PMO) at Denver International Airport.
Project management technical topics include Agile/Six Sigma, Kaizan Kanban, Agile vs Waterfall, lean coaching methods, enterprise project management, first class project delivery, strategic project management, risk mitigation, contract management and dispute resolution.
Other topics focus on communications, team building, improving leadership performance, leading to win, emerging trends in project management, motivational leadership, critical judgment, visual project management, and the future of project management.
