Euan McLeod Joins Comcast Cable as VP of IP Video Engineering

DENVER – March 28, 2017 – Comcast Cable announced today that it has hired Euan McLeod as Vice President, IP Video Engineering. McLeod joins Comcast from Amazon, where he served as Global Head of Video. He will report to Jason Press, Senior Vice President, Video Engineering and Operations for Comcast Cable.
McLeod will lead Comcast VIPER (Video IP Engineering & Research), the Denver-based engineering team that designs, develops and deploys the software Comcast uses to deliver IP (Internet Protocol) video to customers’ televisions, smartphones and connected devices. In this role, McLeod will guide Comcast’s ongoing migration to IP-based video delivery across all devices and platforms.

Comcast VIPER builds technology that underpins virtually all XFINITY video experiences, and leads Comcast’s technological migration to IP video. Comcast VIPER is part of the Technology and Product Organization led by Tony Werner, President, Technology and Product, Comcast Cable.
In his role at Amazon, McLeod led strategy and development for a range of projects and initiatives including Amazon Video, Amazon Prime and Amazon Music. Prior to joining Amazon, he was Vice President of Content Platforms with Turner, where he oversaw development and operations for digital video content for a number of networks including CNN and TNT. Before that, McLeod founded Mobile Platform, a mobile video company that was the first company to stream live video to the iPhone in 2009 with customers that included BBC, Turner and Sky.
McLeod earned his bachelor of engineering degree from Edinburgh Napier University and his MBA from Heriot-Watt University. He also studied marketing innovative technologies through Harvard Business School’s executive education program.
