Fowler Software Design Creates iPhone App to Help Lifeguard Aeromed Expand its Business

Denver-based custom software development company, Fowler Software Design, recently created an iPhone application that will provide quotes for anyone in the aviation industry. The idea for the iPhone app, called FliQuote, came when Lifeguard Aeromed Sales and Marketing Director Chase Idleman realized it would be more convenient if he could get quotes for their air ambulance service directly from his iPhone. Lifeguard Aeromed had been using a desktop application and Idleman wanted to make it mobile.

“We realized it would be better for us financially to get an app that could be used externally, not just internally,” Idleman said. “We decided to find a company that would be able to develop the application.” Idleman started researching and getting quotes from several different companies, but ultimately decided to go with Fowler Software Design. He said, “Fowler took the time to understand what I envisioned and responded well. The communication level was good and I was always updated and kept in the loop.”

Fowler Software Design was excited to help Lifeguard Aeromed with the application. Chief Operations Officer for Fowler Software Design, Tom Ciancio, said, “Aeromed was already an established and thriving business, so it was exciting to help them create an application that would expand and grow their company.”

FliQuote will allow users to enter certain parameters including distance, fuel, time, pilot’s rate, airports, etc., to give users a price estimate on how much the trip would cost. Users and their prospective clients will then be sent an e-mail with the given quote. The app will also have some extra features including a list that will allow users to calculate the distance between airports and determine true costs to the consumer, and a component that will allow users to save a “Favorite” which will auto fill the parameters. Idleman is hoping the application will go live in early December.
