It's been a whirlwind first month as CEO and I can't wait to dive into the next. We aren't slowing down here at CTA, but are ramping up our efforts in every way to make an incredible impact on behalf of our members.
I've been involved with CTA since 2009, serving on the Board of Directors and several committees, but now have seen the full breadth of what our team has in the works and what it is capable of providing for Colorado's tech community. I was welcomed by 600+ amazing leaders at the Women in Technology Conference during my first week, which truly highlighted the strength of our industry and kicked off the second half of 2016 in a big way.
That momentum will carry us into our 2nd Annual Colorado Tech Tour from August 1-5, stopping at five regions in five days. One of our top priorities going forward is to connect our diverse communities outside the Front Range and build close relationships so we can better advocate for their needs. The Tour is just the beginning of those efforts and I'm thrilled to see colleagues in Colorado Springs, Frisco, Grand Junction, Fort Collins, Longmont and other stops along the way.
We wrap up a month focused on connection with a low-key, tech-free gathering for our industry filled with the best brews, wines and spirits on August 18th at Sip & Connect, then set the stage for what's next in our industry through the Colorado Tech Summit on October 19th. It all builds to a celebration of your remarkable feats for the year with the APEX Awards on November 9th (start thinking about who you wish to nominate!) that I know will cap off another record year for our organization and community.
Thank you to everyone who has welcomed me into the new role, and to anyone I have yet to meet, please don't hesitate to get in touch about how CTA can help fuel the work you're doing to make Colorado the best place for tech. And now you can engage with me on Twitter: @AndreaYoungCo!
