DISH Promotes CIO John Swieringa to EVP of Operations, Names Rob Dravenstott CIO

December 11, 2015 - Today, DISH announced a series of senior management changes intended to fulfill the company’s strategic goals and align its business to more fully respond to the dynamic pay-TV environment.
DISH veteran of 20 years and EVP of Operations, Erik Carlson, has been named President and Chief Operating Officer. Carlson will supervise all DISH revenue-generating, operating and administrative units. John Swieringa, who formerly served as DISH's Chief Information Officer, has been promoted and will assume Carlson’s previous role as Executive Vice President of Operations. Rob Dravenstott has been named Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer, reporting to Swieringa, who most recently served as DISH VP of IT Application Development, has been promoted to SVP and CIO and will report to Swieringa.
As CIO, Dravenstott is responsible for the company's enterprise information technology strategy and operations. In his prior role as vice president of application development and testing, Rob led the company's big data and analytics efforts, supported the implementation of DISH Media Sales' programmatic TV advertising platform, and helped launch the Sling TV platform.
