KidsTek Celebrates 15 Years

Denver, CO - January 23, 2015 - KidsTek celebrates our 15th year in operation at our annual Tech Leaders Dinner at Mile High Station. On February 19th, KidsTek will celebrate its 15th year in operation at its annual Tech Leaders Dinner. Starting at 6:00pm and ending at approximately 9:00pm, the dinner will be held at Mile High Station, located at 2027 Old West Colfax Avenue in Denver, CO 80204.

The celebration will include a networking cocktail hour, silent auction, student demonstrations, entertainment, dinner, presentation of the Nancy J Sauer Philanthropy Award, and a live auction benefiting the numerous technology education programs for under-served youths in Colorado. There will also be an After Party starting at 9:00pm, featuring the popular Hogback Blues Band.

A number of professionals will be in attendance to join KidsTek in this momentous occasion. We are most excited about our keynote speaker, none other than Denver Mayor Michael B. Hancock. Mayor Hancock has been instrumental in Denver’s transformation into a more globally competitive city and has been developing a series of measures that will add thousands of jobs to Denver’s economy in the next two decades. KidsTek is proud that Mayor Hancock has agreed to be our keynote speaker.

“As we prepare our kids to compete and succeed in the 21st century economy, we look to organizations such as KidsTek to provide the tools and the resources to make that happen,” Mayor Hancock said. “Together, we will make sure that we’re serving our children no matter what zip code they live in.”

"It's been a fantastic 15-year journey from our roots as a pass-through to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Denver to now serving over 900 students per year in 20 high-needs schools in the metro area,” said Richard Liner, Executive Director of KidsTek. “While we have helped thousands of kids reach Digital Literacy during this time, the need continues to rise, and we intend to meet the challenge to prepare our under-served youth for college and careers in the 21st century economy. Our 15th Anniversary Gala is our biggest fundraiser of the year, and we are excited to have Mayor Hancock delivering the Keynote address at this important milestone."

The celebration will cover the last decade and a half of KidsTek’s resounding success, including discussions of what was accomplished in 2014 and what we can look forward to throughout 2015. You can expect to hear information about our new partners for the new year, and as part of that introduction, we’re offering $100 tickets to the dinner for first-time attendees. You’ll get to network with top Colorado tech and education executives, enjoy an incredible dinner and help KidsTek start 2015 off with a bang!
