December 3, 2013 | DENVER, CO – The second annual Denver Startup Week numbers are in and this year saw incredible growth. Over 5500 startup community members engaged in over 125 events celebrating everything entrepreneurial in the mile high city. With over 650 companies involved in events, seminars and panels over a period of six days, Denver Startup Week’s success was unprecedented.

Dubbed the largest free entrepreneurial event of its kind in the entire country, Denver Startup Week 2014 plans are already underway with the event being held September 15-20, 2014.

"This event is pretty rare," stated renowned author and serial entrepreneur, Seth Godin, to an audience of more than 800 entrepreneurs at the Denver Startup Week 2013 kickoff luncheon hosted by the Downtown Denver Partnership. "[Denver Startup Week] is not just rare for me; it's rare for the world."

Organized by Denver entrepreneurs, the Downtown Denver Partnership, and Colorado Technology Association, Denver Startup Week is a platform to convene all those who are building startups, want to build startups and want to be involved in the community. In its second year, Denver Startup Week expanded to include Basecamp launched by Chase, a central hub and meeting/work place that hosted speakers and panelists, founders and entrepreneurs, media, mentor programming with local and national CEOs and developers, leadership spotlight sessions, networking events and more. Over 300 mentor meetings occurred and over 2000 people visited the location throughout the week.

"The opportunities, access, resources and tools that startups and high-growth business are exposed to throughout the entire Denver Startup Week is often the catalyst for incredibly profound momentum in the entrepreneurial community,” said Ben Deda, co-chair of Denver Startup Week and a local entrepreneur.

Denver Startup Week was designed to be part educational, part inspirational, part motivational, and part celebration. The core programming centers on entrepreneurship and startups and focuses on technology, design, manufacturing and business.

"Denver is on a mission – we’ve got this really special culture in our city that allows the entrepreneurial energy to grow and for people to get engaged,” said Erik Mitisek, President and CEO of the Colorado Technology Association and co-chair of Denver Startup Week. "That energy and passion will continue to put Denver on the map as one of the best cities for startups and entrepreneurship.”

"Denver Startup Week is the platform that brings this community together right in the heart of our city,” said Tami Door, President and CEO of the Downtown Denver Partnership and co-chair of Denver Startup Week. "Can you imagine the impact that all of the amazing ideas, businesses, partnerships and collaborations that occur during the week will have?”
