Last week, the Obama
Administration announced three new pilot institutes as part of the National Network of
Manufacturing Innovation(NNMI)- two from the Department of
Defense (DOD) and one from the Department of Energy (DOE). This is
fortuitous timing for our state as the Colorado General Assembly has just
passed landmark legislation in HB13-1001 to support the advanced industries
in Colorado, which are drivers of innovation, exports and job growth, and
elevate our global competitiveness. This bill, signed into law today by
Gov. Hickenlooper, will create three AI grant programs to accelerate
commercialization and industry growth.
Our office is excited to
leverage these new AI grants to build competitive applications from
Colorado for these NNMI pilot institutes. Today, we are issuing
solicitations for proposals from Colorado industry and institutions who
want to apply, using AI grants as part of the match to the federal funding.
Solicitations will be accepted from individuals or teams. If submitting as
an individual, our office will look to link your assets, resources and
expertise to create a larger team. Solicitations can also include regional or
national partners outside of Colorado.
DODRequest for Information(RFI)solicitations,
we are asking for responses to be submitted to our office bynext

We look forward to receiving
your strongest proposals and working together to win an institute of
manufacturing innovation for Colorado. We realize these are short
timelines, but in order to put Colorado's best foot forward, we are
attempting to assemble the strongest proposals and still comply with
