Startup OTIXO Wins Technology Competition and $25,000 Prize

1,200 Attend Colorado Technology Association’s 8th Annual DEMOgala

DENVER – October 25, 2012 – Colorado Technology Association (CTA) announced OTIXO, a Boulder-based technology startup, as the winner of the DEMO Challenge during its 8th Annual DEMOgala event at the Sheraton in Downtown Denver on Thursday.  A $25,000 prize was at stake for the 18 startups that were invited on stage to demonstrate their innovative product or service in 4 minutes and 30 seconds to a crowd of more than 1,200 attendees.

DEMOgala was kicked off by Governor John Hickenlooper and U.S. Senator Michael Bennet, followed by a keynote from former Founder and CEO of Sun Microsystems, Scott McNealy, who flew in from California to speak at the technology conference.

OTIXO, founded by Shannon Thomas, unifies files from cloud services into a single app so that consumers can search, access, and manage their content from a single place without duplication.

This solves the problem of accessing diverse software services scattered across many cloud platforms, such as programs like Dropbox, Picasa, Basecamp, SharePoint and FTP sites so that remote teams can share and collaborate on files from any service without moving files from their source provider. The result is a reduction in file duplication and ease of accessing different services in one application.

"CTA is thrilled to offer this prize of $25,000 to OTIXO, the winner of our DEMO Challenge,” said Steve Foster, President and CEO, Colorado Technology Association.  "This is the first time CTA has awarded a prize to a startup during DEMOgala, but we hope to make this an annual event, because we want to see our technology startup community thrive in Colorado.” Foster concluded.

Colorado Technology Association was the Title Sponsor of the Denver Startup Week events and held its DEMOgala, which had a sold out exhibit floor and more than 20 technology experts that shared their knowledge throughout the day.
