CSU Creates Essential Training for Technology Professionals

Colorado State University's College of Business in collaboration with the Society for Information Management (SIM), the Colorado Technology Association (CTA), and the Rocky Mountain Information Management Association (RMIMA) developed a unique curriculum designed to optimize the opportunities for technology professionals to expand their expertise in business functions in order to assume a more visible leadership role in their respective organizations.

The certificate is designed as a management program to provide a development opportunity for technology leaders. The program will provide participants with a business orientation focused on strategy, operational excellence, innovation and creativity, and financial management. 

Held monthly in downtown Denver the classes will be led by select faculty and co-facilitated by technology leaders. This will be a highly interactive program that will require a strong commitment to participation.

Participants can apply 8 credits towards CSU Executive MBA or Online Professional MBA program.

Program Takeaways

The courses in this certificate program have been selected to provide new strategic approaches and tools for managing projects and innovation. Each topic will introduce concepts to help participants understand the enterprise from a broader operational perspective and assist in the development of the leadership skills necessary to build and lead projects to a successful conclusion.

Strategy Modules include: Strategic Information Technology, Skills and Tools for the Emerging Leader, Leading Change, Corporate Responsibility and Ethics, and Power and Politics.
Innovation and Creativity Modules include: 21st Century Readiness and Spiral Thinking, and Human Capital and Innovation: Soft Skills vs. Hard Data – the Horns of a Dilemma.
Operational Excellence Modules include: Essentials of Marketing and Service Strategy, Supply Chain and Demand Management, and Project Management.
Finance Module: Finance for Non-Finance Managers and Professionals.
Capstone Experience: The Integration of Strategic Management and Core Business Processes.

The cost of the program is $9500 for eleven, two-day sessions. 
Cost includes all class materials, meals, and reception.

Discounts are available for Colorado State University alumni and organizations that register two or more people.
