Using Business Intelligence to Drive Performance Management

In these challenging economic times, consequences of management decisions is more critical than ever. Executives need real-time information to make decisions quickly and correctly in these slow economic conditions. Planning is happening throughout the fiscal year, with more economic and "what if" scenarios. Performance results and problems must be understood rapidly, so new actions may take place. Executive surveys show that effective "Performance Management" is the number one IT solution priority right now.

Join us for an executive panel discussion breakfast with VPs of IT who will to share insight around using Business Intelligence to Drive Performance Management. IBM will discuss why performance management is so critical right now and how it is being used. JCB Partners, a consulting and IT services firm that specializes in performance management, will share examples of the business value companies are achieving through successful performance management implementations.  In addition, a panel of VPs of IT from Colorado companies whom have implemented such projects will share their lessons learned, cautions, and successes.


Justin Becher, IT Manager - Business Intelligence, Sunrise Medical
Justin has dedicated his career to Business Intelligence solutions, both in the management capacity and as a consultant. Justin has served the BI world since the mid 1990s and has seen the evolution of both the technologies and business applications.  He has lead multiple successful performance management projects that has helped companies improve sales, order fulfillment, quality and other aspects of supply chain performance.  Justin is also an APICS Certified Supply Chain Professional.

Erik Duffield, Managing Director, JCB Partners
Erik Duffield is a Managing Director with JCB Partners, a consulting firm specializing in performance management. His performance management career includes serving as VP of Operations for Baetis, Inc., a customer analytics focused business intelligence (BI) firm. Erik specializes in Strategic Planning, Organizational Analytics and Corporate Finance.  Providing leadership for JCB’s industry practice groups, Erik works with leading Retail and Consumer Products organizations as a consultant leading change in strategic planning and execution. He specializes in decomposing organizational metrics to drive financial performance through a more effective, analytical understanding of the business.

Rich Frost, Director Information Technology/Enterprise Analytics, Miller International Inc.
Rich has served as the Director of IT and Enterprise Analytics for Miller International since 2004.  Previously Rich worked as the Senior Solutions Architect for Business Intelligence at COGNOS Corporation and was the Principal for SIE-BASE Technology Corporation.  Rich has extensive experience in the information technology industry and graduated with honors from the West Texas State University.

Dayle Ash is the executive responsible for IBM's Colorado General Business Unit.  This unit provides hardware, software, and services to companies in Colorado and Wyoming.  Dayle is proud of IBM’s contribution to the economy in Colorado as an employer, through a large partner ecosystem, and by directly impacting client’s success.  Dayle is actively involved in the Colorado business community.  Prior to this assignment Dayle was a Business Unit Executive in the IBM Telecommunications Industry and the IBM Global Client Executive for the MCI Corporation.
