Trade Secrets and Your Employees - Member Only

Your intellectual property, including your customer lists, marketing strategies and financial data, is your most valuable business asset.  Such information may be protected under the law of trade secrets; however, challenges exist in protecting this information in the employment relationship, from  hiring  through the end of employment.

This seminar will provide practical advice on how you can protect this information from disclosure by your employees, and will discuss the various types of agreements that employers may enter into with their employees, such as non-disclosure, non-compete and non-solicitation agreements.  We will discuss recent developments in the law, and will share practical experience with these issues.

Craig N. Johnson of Fairfield and Woods, P.C. will walk you through setting up a compliance program your company employees.  Mr. Johnson is a director in the litigation department who focuses on complex commercial litigation, including intellectual property litigation.  He has authored more than 13 articles, many focusing on trade secrets.

Colin A. Walker of Fairfield and Woods, P.C. will cover the employment law ramifications and protections when your employees sign these “non” agreements.  Mr. Walker is a director in the litigation department who focuses on employment law.  He frequently presents to HR professionals and small business owners.

Ryan B. Smith and Trevor R. Barlow of ConferenceEdge, LLC will share their lessons learned and practical advise about their recent venture into litigation regarding trade secrets.
