KEYNOTE SPEAKER - Peter Sheahan

Fl!p: Creative strategies for turning challenge into opportunity and change into competitive advantage

The fact that the world is changing is not new to anyone. The more important question is what do we need to do in the face of this change? Whether you be dealing with regulation, global competition, new technology, or demographic shifts - it is crucial that as a leader you take the time to stop, get some elevation and take a fresh look at how to most effectively respond to those changes.

In Peter Sheahan’s case-study rich session, he will explore best-practices from multiple industries that have experienced similar transformative change, and unpack the key insights from those who profited from the change compared to those that became victims to it. Specifically, he will discuss:

  • The role assumptions play in blinding us to new opportunities.  You cannot take historical beliefs, business models, or approaches to partnerships into the future and expect to generate superior results.  You need new thinking for a new environment.
  • The importance of clarity and alignment in our strategic response to change.  Leaning into the complexity of where the market is going and aligning your organization: your investments, energy, and time to leverage that complexity.
  • The need to take intelligent, controlled risks in response to change.
  • Collaborating across the value chain to exploit new opportunities.  Realizing that we do not have to go it alone, but that we can and should align strategically with both public and private partners to drive elevated impact.
