Transitioning from IT Fire Fighter to City Planner

Part of the Insights Series in partnership with Forrester Research

  • Technology organizations have been living in silos and are therefore poorly positioned to help their company address customers' rising expectations. IT organizations must not only change how they partner with the business but also pivot toward business technology and one common goal: to win, retain, and serve customers. Thus, IT pros will need to radically change how they deliver services on a continuous basis. As application portfolio and infrastructure strategies change, current best practice processes and technologies in tech operations must shift to what Forrester calls modern operations, which is characterized by agility, availability, responsiveness, and quality of services delivered. Eveline will discuss best practices to help IT Pros successfully adapt to the age of the customer.
  • Trends and Directions in IT Operations
  • How to get strategic
  • What will the job look like in 5 years?
  • What skills will be needed to be successful?
