As IT and businesses evolve to reflect consumer-centric orientation, understanding the importance of data, information, and knowledge will be key. Barriers that impede the cooperation between IT and business must be addressed to enable a true service-oriented environment focused on the needs of the consumer. Please join us as our speakers provide keen insights into the technology evolution, barriers that organizations face, the alignment required and the division of labor that successful organizations will need to embrace.

James Barrett is a highly motivated and flexible Enterprise Architect, Transformation Analyst, and System Engineer. Mr. Barrett brings a world-renowned expertise in geospatial technology and information management and leadership.  He led the system design of Indonesia’s National Spatial Data Infrastructure (NSDI). As the director of WWW Operations at Space Imaging, he led the technology transitions to an online business model.



Bob Haycock has deep experience and expertise defining governmental management and service delivery practices. He was the Chief Information Officer and Chief Architect for the National Business Center (NBC) of the Department of the Interior.  Mr. Haycock was instrumental in developing premier federal government shared services centers for Human Resources and Financial Management.  He served as the first Chief Architect for the Executive Office of the President, Office of Management and Budget where he spearheaded a strategic initiative around enterprise architecture.


Dray Wharton is a principal member of Wharton & Co., a Denver-based management consultancy. With over thirty years in the technology community, he has worked in the federal, military, and private sectors. He has broad experience in business technologies and has served in CIO, COO, and CEO roles. As a USAF communications-computer systems officer he managed the Air Force non-classified data center. He is a former trainer for Microsoft strategies and has developed programs in agile development, cloud computing, experiential knowledge collection, and working with collaborative technologies.
