The New Era of the CIO: A Discussion on Business Strategies and Leadership
This discussion will revolve around how the role of the CIO has evolved over the years, and whether this changing roles is being embraced by businesses. The panel speakers will incorporate leadership and business strategy, and touch on how business leaders can utilize all the people related to technology within their organizations to help them grow.

Greg Sparks, CIO at Blue Ocean Enterprises and President of CIOsource

Mike Dalke
Interim Director of IT at OtterBox
Mike Dalke is the Interim IT Director at OtterBox and also serves as the Practice Lead for IT Service Management at CIO Source. He is an IT Professional with over 20 years of experience spanning Service Management, Development, Architecture, Quality Assurance and Program Management. More recently, Mike has focused in the IT Service Management space including a roles as Director of Production Support at Level 3 Communications and Manager of IT Operations at OtterBox. Prior to that Mike was a Senior Manager with Accenture. He received a B.S. degree in Computer Science from Colorado State University.


Travis Morrison
IT Director at New Belgium

Travis Morrison is the IT Director for New Belgium Brewing Company, an world-class craft brewery based in Fort Collins, CO. New Belgium Brewing is best known for Fat Tire, Amber Ale that is distributed widely in the US. Travis joined New Belgium Brewing in 2007 and is currently responsible for directing an extensive range of corporate IT functions while participating in planning and implementation of IT solutions in direct support of business objectives.


Greg Sparks
CIO at Blue Ocean Enterprises and President of CIOsource

Greg Sparks is the President and Founder of CIO Source, an IT strategy and leadership consulting firm. He currently serves as the CIO at Blue Ocean Enterprises, and recently built and transformed the IT and BPM organization at OtterBox during a period of extreme growth. Greg has also consulted in leadership roles at Clearwire and Aircell (Gogo) during the rapid growth of those companies. Prior to founding CIO Source, Greg held technology positions in Fortune 500 telecommunications companies and a leading management consulting firm. At Level 3 Communications, he led multiple organizations covering all major aspects of IT, including Strategy & Architecture, Development, Program Management, Infrastructure, and Quality Assurance. He also held IT leadership roles for five major company acquisitions. Prior to Level 3, Greg managed technical architecture teams at Sprint and consulted for Andersen Consulting (now Accenture). He started his IT career at Abilene Christian University, where he also received his bachelor's and master's degrees.
