Secure Ideas is holding the first public offering of our two-day Secure Coding for Developers class at Galvanize on Jan 14-15th. The class runs 9-5 both days and is a constant combination of lecture and lab for the first day and a half. The second half of Day 2 is a Capture the Flag competition where the students put into practice everything they've been learning. We will provide a PDF of the courseware and all labs for continued practice thereafter. The course is applicable for all industries and languages, as the attacks are applicable to all languages, and the instructors can answer language-specific issues if/as they arise. The most common languages used by those who have taken the course are .NET, Java, PHP, and Ruby/Rails. A very brief course outline is below and if you'd like to see a more granular outline, just let me know.

-Introduction to PCI

-Introduction to Secure Coding

-Introduction to SamuraiWTF

-Security Testing Types and Methodology

-OWASP Top 10 + Testing Tools

-Putting It All Together

-Capture the Flag

Historically we have taught this class onsite for specific clients, but now we're taking it public at a discounted rate. We have been writing courseware, training, and speaking for years to all levels of audience from high school students up to the United States Senate. Secure Ideas wrote the entire web security curriculum for the SANS Institute, their .NET secure coding class, and their first mobile security course. We speak/teach all around the country at venues such as BlackHat, DEF CON, RSA, DerbyCon, OWASP, and many others.

The course is $750 per student with an Early Bird Registration cost of $650 through Dec 13th. We are offering a discount to fellow Galvanizers for $500 per student. Due to the size of the room, we have to cap the class at 16 students.
