|BI - Creation to Results in Less Than a Year
EchoStar solved one of the largest challenges facing CIOs today: How can I provide instant, easy-to-use information to every business unit across the globe? Today, every level of EchoStar's organization has intuitive, self-service access to real time information without ever having to contact IT. Users now have complex questions answered in seconds instead of days or weeks. Through the success of this initiative, EchoStar worked through a wide variety of challenges and learned many lessons that they will share with you in this session.
The technology behind this solution is a state of the art Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) system, leap-frogging the organization beyond their competitors. EchoStar's EDW is comprised of the best that the technology industry has to offer in 2011.
EchoStar was able to operationalize the EDW system within 180 days while showing uncommon results for business partners in 90 days. By creating a mixed team of internal business and technology professionals and employing a rapid delivery approach, EchoStar was able to greatly minimize common project risks associate with big data projects. The discovery this implementation approach led to fundamental changes in the way projects are conducted in the organization.
In this program you’ll learn:
- How and why this mixed team was so successful
- Tips for making your project’s delivery in less time
