Make Your Voice Count on Taxation

Posted By Nikki Mill, Monday, August 3, 2009
It is important to be heard about key taxation issues, and one that CSIA is very concerned about is taxes on intangible personal property (such as software consulting, and custom development work).  One of the organizations involved in identifying key issues for businesses in general is CACI, the state Chamber of Commerce.  If you serve on any of their committees (especially their Tax Committee), please let them know we also need to be very concerned about any changes to add sales tax to our industry.  You can also voice your opinion through their recently issued their Business Issues Survey.   Please fill out the survey so the software/hardware/IT services industry is represented, and let them know that another key issue of importance is taxes on intangible personal property.  (Do so by adding that as a comment to the survey.)

MX Logic Makes Our State Proud

Posted By ORG Colorado Technology Association (CTA), Colorado Technology Association (CTA), Monday, August 3, 2009
It's a dream that proves true for smart people, even during unsettled economic times -- yet another proof point that Colorado has been, and continues to be full of extremely smart technology entrepreneurs and businesses who make success happen every day.

This one just happened to be John Street, MX Logic CEO/Board Chair (and the 2008 CSIA Technology Executive of the Year), Co-Founder Scott Chasin and the team at MX Logic.  Last week, MX Logic announced plans to sell to McAfee for $170 million in cash and earn-outs.  Their work through the years - including the work John and Scott have done for CSIA, the Governor's Innovation Council and beyond - will continue in Colorado even while determining what's next.  It's our understanding they are also making sure their employees will continue to be a part of the Colorado community, so kudos to the team for making technology news again while also keeping smart people in our state.  They prove it's the power of smart, no matter what the economy is!
