Kindergarten – Higher Education Resources
Technology, like language, starts early.  Help children and their teachers explore technology.

AgentSheets  –  AgentSheets aims to use the motivational and fun experience of game design to teach computational science to middle and high school students and encourage students (of all socioeconomic backgrounds and both genders) to pursue careers in IT and become part of a larger and sustainable IT workforce.  AgentSheets is the recipient of the 2008 APEX award for Best Technology Initiative in Education.

Adams County Education Consortium  – ACEC was founded in June 2005 to ensure that learners in the county achieve the personal and skill development that will equip them to pursue challenging careers, and that companies (both existing and future) will have access to a skilled workforce.  The Experience 9 to 5 program is designed to help high school students of Adams County explore careers while they still have time to revise their remaining high school courses and set themselves up for post-high school preparation for these careers. 

BETR  – The Business and Education Talent Readiness (BETR) Project is a new program offered by the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment.  A key component of the project is Tuesday Tours.  Tuesday Tours enable teachers and parents to tour and learn about various businesses.

Bits, Bytes & Bots – Bits, Bytes & Bots Computer Adventures is dedicated to giving kids across the nation access to technology education in a fun safe and confidence building atmosphere.

IT Career Guide

CASMIC – The Center for Applied Science and Mathematics for Innovation and Competitiveness (CASMIC) is designed to promote partnerships between the University of Colorado at Denver and Health Sciences Center, school districts, other institutions of higher education, and the business sector. CASMIC hosts an annual event in Denver, STEMapalooza, a multi-day conference that provides students, parents and teachers exposure to all the fun and interactive aspects of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM)-based careers.

CollegeInColorado.org  – CollegeInColorado.org, offers a one-stop resource to help students, parents and counselors plan, apply and pay for college.

Colorado MESA – Colorado Mathematics, Engineering, Science Achievement (MESA) program is designed to encourage minority and female students to prepare themselves for a college education and to major in mathematics, engineering or science.

Denver School of Science and Technology (DSST) – The Denver School of Science and Technology (DSST) is a free, open- enrollment public school serving middle and high school students. DSST's approach is predicated on a standards- based pedagogy and values-based school culture delivered in a college preparatory liberal arts program with a science and technology focus. DSST is the only "Distinguished" rated high school in Denver and 100% of its graduates have been accepted into four year colleges.

First Robotics – FIRST builds self-confidence, knowledge and life skills while motivating young people to pursue opportunities in science, technology, engineering and math.

Expert Technician Academy  – The Expert Technician Academy addresses employment needs mainly in the IT industry by teaching high school students (in the Douglas County School District) and adult learners (from around the region), the technical skills required by industry.

IT Exploring Program  – The IT Exploring Program annually gives 40 high school students, who have expressed an interest in computer and technology based careers, a chance to learn what it is like to work in the field of information technology by visiting different IT-related host companies.

KidsTek –  KidsTek connects the resources and opportunities of the technology sector with the identified technology education needs of kids in Colorado's undeserved communities.

OpenWorld Learning – Learning supports children's school success by tapping the power of digital technology and peer teaching to ignite a love of learning and leadership.

STEMapalooza – STEMapalooza is an annual two-day event that supports Science, Technology, Engineering, & Math programs.  The event is a fantastic opportunity for students of all ages to engage in hands-on activities, such as Fast-Track Racing, Robotics, Gaming, Film Production, Staging, Rocketry, and much more.

The Binning Family Foundation  –  The goal of the Binning Family Foundation’s Technology Program is to give youth access to and instruction in the use of technology so that they develop their critical and creative capacities as they work to realize their goals and aspirations.

WIRED  –  The Metro Denver WIRED Initiative was largely funded through a four-year federal grant from the U.S. Department of Labor. The grant started in early 2006 and finished at the end of January 2010. The vision of WIRED, creating a home-grown skilled workforce for the region’s fastest growing high-wage industries, is being sustained through the various programs the grant funded and the many partnerships the grant helped create. Boulder Denver New Technology Meetup – The Boulder Denver New Technology Meetup events are designed to provide a time and place for technologists and entrepreneurs to showcase new technology developing in Boulder/Denver and is also designed to create networking opportunities for anyone interested in new technology.

Boulder Java User Group (BJUG) – The BJUG meetings are always free and open to the public and cover topics related to Java Software Development including APIs, tools, frameworks, dynamic languages, agile practices, and more.

Boulder Linux Users Group (BLUG)  –  The Boulder Linux Users Group is a group of hobbyists, professionals and enthusiasts from all walks of life joined by a common interest in using, administering, or developing free software for Linux-based operating systems.

Boulder .NET User Group –  The Boulder .NET User Group provides a nice way to learn the newest technologies and network with peers.

Colorado Association for Manufacturing and Technology (CAMT)  – The Colorado Association for Manufacturing and Technology is a statewide manufacturing assistance center focused on increasing the strength and competitiveness of Colorado manufacturers.  CAMT provides on-site technical assistance and support, and collaboration-focused industry programs.

Colorado BioScience Association (CBSA) – The Colorado BioScience Association facilitates the growth of the BioScience industry in Colorado through advocacy, representation and service.  CBSA helps shape the policies and develops programs to help Colorado's bioscience and medical device companies grow and prosper.

Colorado Linux Users & Enthusiasts (CLUE) – CLUE is the Linux User's Group for the Denver metro area.  Their goal is to advocate the GNU/Linux operating system through social gatherings and dissemination of information about GNU/Linux, and other free and open source software.

Colorado Springs Open Source Users – This group gathers to discuss the benefits of using open source projects and developing open source software.

Communications Technology Professionals (CTP) – CTP is a non-profit, communications technology organization that focuses on promoting growth, innovation and leadership of communications companies and individuals in Colorado.

CORE  – CORE is a non-profit business association dedicated to the promotion of more environmentally and socially responsible business practices with a view to creating a more sustainable global economy.

Denver Area Access Users Group – The Denver Area Access Users Group helps Access users (from novice to professional) get the most out of Access through sharing current methods and techniques.

Denver Java Users Group –  Denver Java Users Group brings leaders and specialists in Java technologies for first hand exposure to code, best practices, tools, methodologies, and cutting-edge solutions.

Denver Linux, Apache, MySQL and PHP (LAMP) Meetup Group –  This group exchanges ideas and talk about code, architecture, innovation, and open source in general.

Denver Open Source Users Group (DOSUG) –  The DOSUG was formed to help developers share information about using Open Source projects in commercial environments, best practices, horror stories, and education on all aspects of Open Source Software from Frameworks to complete applications.

Denver RIA Developers Group – This non-profit organization brings leaders and specialists in Adobe Flex and Adobe AIR technologies together for first hand exposure to code, best practices, tools, methodologies, and cutting-edge solutions.

Denver SEMPO – is a national organization with a Colorado working group that meets on a monthly basis to discuss topics that include Search Engine Optimization (SEO) techniques and more general issues related to Search Engine Marketing (SEM), such as pay per click advertising, social media, and emerging technologies.

Denver Search Engine Optimization Meetup Group  – This group enables local people who perform Search Engine Optimization (SEO) techniques and Search Engine Marketing (SEM) to network while avoiding larger generic groups.

Denver Visual Studio User Group –  This technically-focused independent group of professional developers concentrates interests on the Microsoft Visual Studio and the .NET Framework development tool set, emphasizing Visual C# and Visual Basic.

Denver Web Technologies Meetup Group –  This group is comprised of local Web developers & programmers that like to discuss the various news and technique involved in their work. Members range from professional to beginning hobbyist and subject covered include design, layout, css, standards and server side programming languages.

Front Range Blogger Meetup – This is an informal meetup for bloggers along Colorado's fabulous Front Range and open to bloggers in any genre or of any experience level -- from experts to newbies, and even just folks curious about blogging and bloggers.

Interactive Gaming & Simulations Alliance (IGSA)  – The IGSA is a trade organization comprised of gaming, interactive entertainment, simulations companies, and academic institutions located in the Denver metro area and focused on promoting business and community between our members and supporting the development of an interactive media cluster in Colorado.

MacInTech Users Group – This Macintosh user group serves the south Denver metro area. Members range from beginners to experts, and useful resources are provided to all.

Mile-High Association of Information Technology Professionals (AITP) – AITP is a broad based IT professional group that welcomes anyone with an interest in computer-based technology and its impact upon our communities and society.

Mountain Tech Forum –  The Mountain Tech Forum is affiliated with the Evergreen Chamber of Commerce and is designed to facilitate the discovery and adoption of better business and technology solutions for small business owners in the communities west of Denver.

Rocky Mountain Chapter of Women in Cable & Telecommunications (WICT) – The Rocky Mountain Chapter of WICT serves as the region’s leading cable and telecommunications association committed to advancing women’s careers and enriching their lives at all levels through personal and professional development and leadership opportunities.

Rocky Mountain Internet Users Group (RMIUG) – RMIUG meets once every other month to learn about the Internet through presentations, information sharing, questions & answers and informal conversations.

Rocky Mountain Information Management Association (RMIMA) –  RMIMA fosters information systems education and the continued advancement of information management.

Rocky Mountain Oracle User Group (RMOUG) –  RMOUG provides educational opportunities to members of the organization about the information technology industry in general, and in particular technologies produced by Oracle Corporation.

Rocky Mountain Windows Technology User Group (RMWTUG) –  RMWTUG is for end-users, system administrators, developers and consultants who use Windows NT technology on the job. Everybody from novice to expert is welcome.
